Working lunches can be really horrible. For some reason people always want to head to the nearest chain restaurant, somewhere you can eat any time. I can almost understand, you want something you will like, don’t want to gamble on cleanliness, or the meal taking too long to arrive. However, one of the best things about traveling (even for work) is eating somewhere new. Somewhere you can only eat there. So if you’re traveling for work, and you’re wondering where to grab lunch in Wilson, NC (or maybe you’ve just moved there) I’ve got a recommendation.
Brewmasters. Don’t be a teetotaler! The food is more than enough of draw if you don’t want a drink during your work day. I didn’t enjoy a drink myself. However, I was assured that the beet list was excellent. I wouldn’t mind going back in the evening.
The building is bright, with awesome graffiti art. It’s a bit of a dive bar, but a very clean dive bar. You place your orders at the bar, find a seat and wait, before your fetch your food.
If there’s cheese on the menu – of just about any kind I’m going to order it. If it’s possible to have a favorite food, cheese is mine.
It’s been a while since I’ve been out, which is as good an excuse as any to be properly indulgent. So I ordered a pizza and and appetizer.
Soft pretzel with beet cheese. Delicious, but enough to be lunch on its own. Lucky I had someone to share with.

For main I had a HoneyBear pizza. Chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese, and honey sriracha drizzle. Delicious!

My colleague had a For Takin’ pizza. Roast beef, spinach, onions, goat cheese, house blend cheeses, garlic Parmesan sauce, and balsamic drizzle.

I couldn’t decide which pizza I liked better, they were both equally amazing! I would eat either again, any day, and twice on a Sunday!
If your looking to grab work lunch in Wilson, NC (or any lunch), Brewmasters is the place. However, if you’re up in the mountains near Blowing Rock, I’ve got some recommendations there too!
