This post is about where to eat in Blowing Rock, NC, however, if you’e planning a trip you should consider The Green Park Inn. A charming historic inn (150 years), family run, with excellent COVID safe practices. I didn’t get to many pictures as I was there on a work function. Definitely planning a fun trip when that is back on the table for me.
Now that we’ve covered where to stay, lets move on to the most important part of any trip … Where are you going to eat?
I am not ashamed to confess that the first thing I do, sometimes even before finding a place to stay is making a list of places to eat.
It was a very shot trip, so I can only get your list started. Start with Sunny Rock. I can never resist a an eggs benny. All the eggs benny wont make up for a bad cup of tea, or worse no tea at all.

We went both eggs benny (Bacon Lovers & Boone) and tossed in a side of hash to round things out.

We indulged, slept late, so breakfast became for of a brunch. But we still had time for a pastry detour. I’m a little abashed that I didn’t take many pictures, but you can forgive me for being distracted by the deliciousness. Check out these macaroons!!!

I love breakfast! I do; make it all the, usually in the evening. But I love dinner. To do lists are done (if I’m lucky). All I have to do at dinner is indulge. We definitely indulged at Story Street Grille.
It’s been so long since I was able to go out to dinner, I may have been silly excited about it. Along with their excellent food, Story Street Grille has great COVID Safe practices. Lots of space between tables, let’s be honest, even with out a global pandemic, it’s nice not to be eating two inches from strangers.
We started with calamari. I’m pretty judgy about calamari, but this was phenomenal!

Fried asparagus with goat cheese ranch. Don’t knock it; it was amazing!

Then we had muscles and shrimp & grits.

The shrimp and grits had absolutely creamy polenta. When I say we indulged, I mean dinner was absolutely decadent!
I’ll stop my self there, before I go into a foodie rant. Now you’ve got a start on where to eat in Blowing Rock, NC, and an idea of where to stay. You might need a book to take with you. Some of my favorites, that make great holiday reads are The Unexpected Mrs. Pollifax, and The Ice Queen.
I may not be going on holiday anytime soon, but drop your recs in the comments anyway!
More pictures and locales in different parts of the world for me to enjoy. Thanks for this!
