Today has brought a near thirteen degree drop in temperature, and mizzly rain, driving me inside, away from my depressingly neglected herb plot. But! It has also given me a chance to get back to this hobby, shamefully neglected during the holiday season, and its far less enjoyable follow up, for me at least, report season.
I pulled out a wonderful present from one of my amazing Aunts, a box from Tea Forte * full of samples of many different kinds of loose leaf tea. Missing the spring weather I looked for something with rich undertones and touch of spring lightness.
Described as ‘A deep, dark tea punctuated by the lush taste of peach.’ I thought I might have found what I was looking for in Mountain Oolong. I was right. I had forgotten that I really love oolong.

I like my teas at least a little sweet, and recommend demerara sugar. The peach is so delicate that honey would be to heavy.
Mountain Oolong isn’t a tea for a working morning wake up, but it is an excellent tea for a mizzly morning when you have an hour to sit, and enjoy.
